New Year-continued resolutions with refreshed desire

I look back on 2010 and smile. It has been a good year. To summarize the high points:
Getting accepted to BCS, graduation, a wonderful summer spent with friends and family, trips up North, moving to Minneapolis and having an awesome semester at Bethlehem College.

This year I don't have any new resolutions, just continued desires that are made afresh with the ushering in of a new year. I take them from Jonathan Edwards.

"Resolved, to strive to my utmost every week to be brought higher in religion, and to a higher exercise of grace, than I was the week before."

"Resolved to study the Scripture so steadily, constantly, and frequently, so that I may find and plainly perceive myself to grow in the knowledge of the same."

I read these two quotes and realize that I am in such a need of grace for these things to become a reality in my life.I can study and learn every week, I can force myself to read my Bible every day, but I cannot cause growth on my own. The Lord must move and do a work in my heart. We never out grow the Gospel, I'm being constantly reminded of that.
