Random Wednesday Night Activities

Today I brought my brothers to youth group. I think this is the first time I drove to the North Campus from our house by myself. This became evident when I stayed on 94 and not on 694 and ended up in Minneapolis. I joked that my internal GPS just was ready to go back to BCS and I really knew where I was going. My brothers did not by it. So after quick phone call to Dad, and a few quick merges, which resulted in my brothers screaming in terror as the experienced Caitlin’s city driving “skills” we found our selves safely at church.

Ahem, anyways….

Once I dropped the boys off at the door I made a quick trip to the McDonalds drive through, ordered my Mocha and French fires, and headed into the church to find some kind of comfy chair to sit and read, watch, and blog.

I decided to go say a quick hello to my friends in the youth room, as I was hugging Hailey and Bethany someone said, “Find a seat girls.” I recognized him from the Seminary. I was thinking “O come on! Can’t you recognize that I’m not a high school student! I’m even wearing a BCS sweatshirt! Your school!” But alas, it was not so.

Anyway, back to my comfy spot. I settled in to a blue, “not overstuffed” chair.  I sat down and in less then five minutes, moms with their little ones surrounded me. I clearly had sat down where these moms usually gathered as their older children were in class.  I did not know if I should leave, or what. I offered one of them my chair and she said she was just fine. So I decided to stay and observe.

Which is what I’m doing at this exact moment.

The little baby boy to my left is named Calvin. Oh yes, we are at Bethlehem.

Listing to these moms talk about life is a real treat. Two ladies are talking about the Kindle. One apparently just got one for Christmas and the other lady is showing her different free books she can download and such and such. The other ladies are a lot more random in their subject topics. From everyday simple things, to the wonders of an Ipod touch.

Wow, I’m being so random.

Anyway.

School starts again on Tuesday, but I’ll be going back to Minneapolis Saturday.

Bittersweet feelings.  I love home, but I love BCS. Can you belong in two places at once? I think so.
